CINEOSIS

The crash-test family performs the 45 signs of Deleuze's cinema books, after David Deamer's taxonomy: first in the measured bay, then inside real archive film, then by hand, and finally as a making-of with a blindfolded Critic.

Five stages

  1. In the bay. The family performs each sign over measured worlds; a critic judges each sign from stills against its test and its counterfeit.
  2. Hybrid pilot. Six signs put into their real archive clips, each plate fitted by hand: camera, light, shadows, occlusion.
  3. Hybrid atlas. An automatic pipeline puts Bola into two clips for every sign: 84 passages.
  4. Handmade. Every sign authored again by hand, reviewed blind in rounds by fresh critics.
  5. Hand Butter. The making-of, performed by the cast, with the Critic as a character.

lilac · blindfolded

The fresh reviewer, made a character in Hand Butter. He wears a blindfold because he sees the pictures but not what was meant, and he judges only what is on the screen.
