Tornado, the Giraffe Walks Past way

Tornado from the archive, made the way Giraffe Walks Past was made. SAM 2.1 traced the tornado in every frame. The rig is the chosen Quick, Draw! doodle itself (quickdraw:6522189199179776): its own lines, bent at a few joints, so every frame is the same drawing. 6 keys were placed by eye over the silhouettes; in-betweens follow the silhouette frame by frame. Scenery is real Quick, Draw! doodles on depth planes that slide with the measured camera; the silhouette is painted as a cel.

Round 1 · bar_metNamed “tornado”; motion smooth. The inverted cone, oval top loop and trailing hook stroke match the doodle almost exactly. There is no visible difference in construction.
Round 2 · bar_metNamed “a tornado funnel (an inverted cone with a spiral top)”; motion broken. The animated funnel uses the same wide spiral rim, open overhanging stroke at the top, and kinked left side as the doodle, so it reads as the same drawing.
Round 3 · bar_metNamed “a tornado funnel (an inverted cone with a spiral at the top)”; motion broken. The funnel keeps the doodle's construction (open spiral top, tail stroke at the upper right, kinked left side, single bottom point) with only small changes in proportion.
Round 4 · bar_metNamed “a tornado funnel: an inverted cone with a looping swirl at the top”; motion smooth. The animated funnel keeps the doodle's construction (loop rim, open swirl tail, kinked left side, long right side) but parts of the rim turn grey in some frames, so the drawing loses strokes the doodle has.
