Tiger, the Giraffe Walks Past way

Tiger from the archive, made the way Giraffe Walks Past was made. SAM 2.1 traced the tiger in every frame. The rig is the chosen Quick, Draw! doodle itself (quickdraw:5746588771155968): its own lines, bent at a few joints, so every frame is the same drawing. 6 keys were placed by eye over the silhouettes; in-betweens follow the silhouette frame by frame. Scenery is real Quick, Draw! doodles on depth planes that slide with the measured camera; the silhouette is painted as a cel.

Round 1 · bar_metNamed “a cat's face (head only, with pointed ears, whiskers and a small nose and mouth)”; motion broken. The animated head uses the same outline, ear shapes, crossed eye strokes, whisker lines and stick-like mouth as the doodle, so it reads as the same drawing. In frames 1-3 the head is narrowed and squashed for the turn, which makes it look slightly less like the doodle than frames 5-8.
Round 2 · bar_metNamed “a cat's head (front view, with ears, whiskers, nose and mouth)”; motion broken. The animated head uses the same outline, ear shapes, crossed eye stroke, tick eyes, loose whiskers and split mouth as the doodle, with only small redrawing of the outline and stroke positions.
