Monkey, the Giraffe Walks Past way

Monkey from the archive, made the way Giraffe Walks Past was made. SAM 2.1 traced the monkey in every frame. The rig is the chosen Quick, Draw! doodle itself (quickdraw:6070278159335424): its own lines, bent at a few joints, so every frame is the same drawing. 7 keys were placed by eye over the silhouettes; in-betweens follow the silhouette frame by frame. Scenery is real Quick, Draw! doodles on depth planes that slide with the measured camera; the silhouette is painted as a cel.

Round 1 · bar_metNamed “a monkey (round head with side ears, face patch, body and curled tail)”; motion broken. The animated figure is the same drawing as the doodle, with the same head outline, ears, spiral face, body and curled tail. It differs only in that the left ear is cut off by the top frame edge in frames 5-7.
Round 2 · bar_metNamed “a monkey (head with round ears, muzzle, and a curled tail, seated)”; motion broken. The drawing keeps the doodle's head outline, spiral eye, muzzle loop, ear shapes and spiral tail, but in frames 5-14 the left ear is cut off by the top of the frame and the left eye is squeezed into overlapping lines.
