Giraffe, the Giraffe Walks Past way

Giraffe from the archive, made the way Giraffe Walks Past was made. SAM 2.1 traced the giraffe in every frame. The rig is the chosen Quick, Draw! doodle itself (quickdraw:6301565671440384): its own lines, bent at a few joints, so every frame is the same drawing. 9 keys were placed by eye over the silhouettes; in-betweens follow the silhouette frame by frame. Scenery is real Quick, Draw! doodles on depth planes that slide with the measured camera; the silhouette is painted as a cel.

Round 1 · bar_metNamed “giraffe head and neck in profile, facing right”; motion broken. The head construction matches the doodle (two ossicones with one drawn as a P-shaped flag, small open ear, arrow eye, muzzle hook, jaw loop), but the long neck with its crossing strokes is cut off by the frame bottom and the lines are thinner than the doodle's heavy strokes.
Round 2 · bar_metNamed “a giraffe head and upper neck in close-up, with two ossicones on top, an ear on the left, an eye mark and a long snout”; motion broken. The head, ossicones, ear, eye arrow and jaw construction match the doodle closely, but the shot crops off most of the doodle's long neck and its inner neck strokes.
Round 3 · bar_metNamed “a giraffe head and neck seen close up, with two horn knobs, an ear flag, an eye mark and a long snout”; motion smooth. The head uses the same strokes as the doodle (flag horn, P-shaped horn, arrow eye, rounded snout with chin line, triangular jaw), but the neck is cropped and the long neck with its crossing lines from the doodle is missing.
Round 4 · bar_metNamed “a giraffe's head and upper neck, seen in close-up with two ossicones, an eye mark and a long muzzle”; motion broken. The head uses the doodle's own parts (the flag-shaped and P-shaped ossicones, the arrow eye, the cheek loop and the muzzle line), but most of the doodle's long neck with its extra strokes is cropped out of frame.
