Duck, the Giraffe Walks Past way

Duck from the archive, made the way Giraffe Walks Past was made. SAM 2.1 traced the duck in every frame. The rig is the chosen Quick, Draw! doodle itself (quickdraw:6527787101847552): its own lines, bent at a few joints, so every frame is the same drawing. 13 keys were placed by eye over the silhouettes; in-betweens follow the silhouette frame by frame. Scenery is real Quick, Draw! doodles on depth planes that slide with the measured camera; the silhouette is painted as a cel.

Review

Round 1 · bar_metNamed “a duck or goose standing in side view”; motion smooth. The animated character is the doodle mirrored to face left, with the same rounded head, flat beak line, dot eye, back slope, stick legs and triangle feet; the feet are slightly more closed and regular than in the doodle.
Round 2 · bar_metNamed “a duck or goose standing in side view, facing left, with small webbed feet”; motion broken. The animated bird is the doodle mirrored left-to-right with the same body outline, beak stroke and triangle feet, though the beak is drawn heavier and the head rounder in some frames.
Round 3 · bar_metNamed “a duck (a bird with a short flat bill and webbed feet) seen in side profile, facing left”; motion smooth. The animated character is the doodle mirrored left-to-right with the same outline, bill line, eye dot and triangular feet, though the feet are drawn smaller and more evenly spaced than in the doodle.
Round 4 · bar_metNamed “a duck or goose standing in side view with a beak, webbed feet and a rounded body”; motion broken. The body, legs and feet are the doodle's outline mirrored left to right, but in the front-facing frames the head becomes a hooded shape with a two-line beak that the doodle never draws, and the body never moves.
