THEcurrent

You are a jellyfish carried down a tube of currents. Hold where you want to drift; tap to pulse your bell and swim. Pulses in a steady rhythm go furthest.

Your arms catch the archive: frames of film drift past, and whatever your arms touch, they hold and draw up into your bell.

The red ink is the censor's. It clings to your arms and clouds your bell. Pulse twice, fast, to shake it off. Too much, and the current takes you.

Three.js. The tentacles and arms are Verlet point chains held by distance constraints (Jakobsen 2001), kept inside the tube by its signed distance field, and they find what to catch through a uniform spatial grid (Teschner 2003). Archive frames are public domain. Contaminant Jelly · how it works.
