TENNIS FOR TWO, THROUGH THE ARCHIVE

Twenty-four shots sit around the ring like a clock. You send the ball to the shot you want next. When it reaches the ring, that shot is cut into the rally film as yours, and plays until the next one arrives, so the ball's speed is the film's rhythm. A new shot takes its place, drawn toward the story's next beat.

Aim by where the ball meets your paddle (off-centre angles it), curve it by moving your paddle as you hit (spin bends the flight, as in Tennis for Two), and let gravity help: the ball is drawn toward shots that cut well from the last one (MAGNET sets how much). As the ball comes to you, a guide shows where your return will land and how that cut joins. Points: your opponent misses, or you cut to the story's next beat (marked on the clock). First to 7.
Move: drag around the ring (two here: left half blue, right half red) or keys A/D and the arrows.
