FILM 074 V01 — INDEPENDENT CRITIC A, FIRST REVIEW Verdict: FAIL for current visual legibility of consequential evidence fields. The designed record relationships are promising, but critical claims are clipped outside the actual export. A separate omission/witness inference needs narrowing. Overall audiovisual acceptance remains INCONCLUSIVE; no native-speed/audio viewing is claimed. Method: Inspected all eight ordered one-second sheets of the actual110s film before CASE_DATABASE.json/checks or prompt. Independently extracted actual frames8s,26s,68s and85s and inspected full resolution. Extraction succeeded. Then audited database/checks and prompt. This is temporal still inspection, not hearing synthesized narration or tick/latch cues. The report preserves actual defects rather than treating readable database prose as proof of screen legibility. No comparable reference was viewed. Blocking visual defect, exact actual examples: 4–21 M01, actual8s: disputed-observation line runs off the right edge after 'Heard a break before the cup reached the tab…'. 21–37 M02, actual26s: 'Placed M01's break at twelve. The face has no…' is clipped before its evidentiary qualification finishes. 64–81 M05, actual68s: sound reclassification runs off-screen at 'The recurring tick is the cabinet latch, not a cl…'. The very distinction the case introduces is incomplete. 81–98 M06, actual85s: 'Heard the break through a receiver, later. Was…' is clipped on line one; line two reads merely 'the table.' This obscures the qualifier 'Was not at the table', central to the final schema change. These defects occur in the actual MP4, not only in small contact-sheet previews. Calm narration cannot be assumed to rescue them because it was not auditioned and the visible-field proof is independently incomplete. Repair condition: Wrap claims to the measured right-column width, preserving words/negation and allowing adequate vertical space above cross-references. Verify every case at actual export resolution, especially the entire M02/M05/M06 claims. Do not merely inspect database text or reduce text until it is technically on-screen but too small. A successful repaired frame must display each complete semantic qualification with no crop at960px export width. First-impression shared-world and memory links: M01(4–21) establishes cup/retained handle and an anomalous hearing-before-contact claim. M02(21–37) names Ivo Senn's clock and refers back to M01. M03(37–54) says the cup was intact after the reported break, introducing unresolved conflict rather than a new arbitrary event. M04(54–64) withholds portrait/entry while KEY-04 remains. M05(64–81) reuses that key and associates it with the record cabinet. M06(81–98) returns to the identical cup-handle drawing and reclassifies hearing as later, mediated reception. The repeated cup handle and key, named relation to Senn's clock, and SEE ALSO fields support at least two identifiable memory links. These are five invented named persons plus a deliberately missing case; no archival person receives a fictional condition. Omission logic requiring correction: M04 says no case entry means 'M02's timing claim cannot be assigned a witness.' But M02 explicitly names Mara Pell as the reporter who placed the break at twelve. Missing M04 does not erase that known reporter. The supplied M02 voice additionally says case four removed the clock hands, but that specific relation is absent from M02's visible report field. Therefore the intended consequence is stronger in the database/voice script than the actual visual case chain, and its wording conflates reporter identification with corroboration. A supported narrower consequence would be 'M04's account is absent; M02's timing claim cannot be corroborated here,' or identify specifically the missing witness/account concerning removal of clock hands. Put the relevant M04 dependency visibly into M02 if visual comprehension is expected. Preserve uncertainty about the event rather than treating absence as proof of a known conclusion. The retained key can allow access to a cabinet while failing to restore an absent account, but a drawn key alone does not recover that account. Durations / variation: Actual cases occupy17,16,17,10,17,17 seconds. Missing case4 is conspicuously shorter; other differences are minimal. Portrait colors/names/objects change within an almost identical static directory layout. This is a deliberate recurring format, but I cannot conclude that six mostly static holds sustain interest at normal speed. Database duration differences are not proof of felt variation. The shorter omission is the clearest visible temporal exception. Ending relation: 98–106 THE DIRECTORY REVISES ITS SCHEMA changes DISPUTED OBSERVATION to UNVERIFIED REPORT, adding medium/witness/time-of-hearing fields. This is potentially earned by M06's receiver/later-hearing distinction and M04's missing account, rather than an arbitrary twist. The current clipped M06 qualification materially weakens that earned visual path.106–110 credits honestly identify fictional cases/portraits/object drawings, intentional unresolved contradictions and M04 withholding, with no historical/clinical testimony claim. Largest remaining gap after basic layout repair: The directory's crucial inference must distinguish what a named person reports, what is independently witnessed and what a missing record could corroborate. Correcting that distinction makes the omission consequential without falsely inferring from absence. An unbriefed reader should be able to name the missing dependency and explain why the schema changes using only complete displayed records. Separately audition narration/cue track and view at native speed to assess memory burden, calm specificity and latch reclassification; no result is claimed here. Strengths to preserve: original fictional portraits/identities; small shared object vocabulary; explicit references; identical returning cup-handle drawing; withheld entry with an extant key; lack of a forced solution to the break; schema revising its own category in response to different media/times. Structural checks for valid IDs and links do not pass the clipped fields or the overbroad witness inference.
