Independent critic B — 069 / IT MUST BE CONNECTED — V01 Verdict: INCONCLUSIVE for the intended anticipation/interruption/reversal achievement. Source separation and wider-context exposure are visually supported, but the supplied main MP4 could not be decoded in this review. The ordered sheets and valid longer alternative support a qualified picture assessment only; they do not certify the broken main file or the sound-dependent tension. No full audiovisual or native-speed acceptance is claimed. Method and actual file limit I inspected all five main one-second sheets, then all five LONG_INTERRUPTION sheets before reading CAUSAL_TIMELINE.json, SCORE.json or prompt.txt. I attempted to extract enlarged actual main frames; FFmpeg failed 'moov atom not found'. I reported that immediately and did not treat the sheets as successful main-file decoding. The longer alternative probes as74 seconds and successfully supplied enlarged actual frames at3.5,6.5,10.5,33.5,39.5,42.5,48.5,62.5 and69.5 seconds. I also independently extracted original source samples: hand0.5/5 seconds, projector9.5, cabinet0.5/6 and audience10. These are selected-frame source checks, not a complete source viewing. No audio audition or native real-time playback occurred. I did not read a builder script or other critic report. Visible initial chain and unsupported inference The main sheets show title0–3, cropped hand3–6, reel6–10, cabinet-door10–14, auditorium14–20, then a four-shot one-second reprise20–24. The valid alternative uses the same initial timings. The hand gripping a control is a plausible initiating cue; the reel can then be read as its mechanical result. Cutting onward to a moving door invites a further unsupported inference that the machine operates an entrance. The audience invites the final inference of a shared screening/event space. None of those cross-source causal links is observed. The visible footer 'Separate recordings / editorial connection' and opening construction statement correctly mark their status. The initial fragments are recognizable objects rather than arbitrary textures. However, the reel's colored display already looks like a projector demonstration, and the cabinet's lower panels can be read as furniture rather than a public entrance. The initial visual geography therefore offers a manufactured association more readily than a fully persuasive continuous situation. I cannot infer how much the newly composed pulse strengthens it without hearing it. At24–29 in the main, WAIT and 'An interruption in the edit' replace images. The alternative extends that same card24–33. It is explicitly an editorial interruption, so it does not look like an unexplained playback failure. It also tells the viewer to wait, reducing the ambiguity of the empty interval. Whether five or nine seconds creates an effective held expectation remains a native-speed/audio question unavailable in this review. From the pictures alone I prefer the five-second version provisionally: nine seconds adds no image information, and the resumed event is not a more consequential answer. Post-gap issue At29–35 in the main, the audience remains seated and applauds; in the valid alternative this occurs33–39. There is no visible dispersal. Its first close audience fragment was already presented at23–24 and the resumed passage begins with overlapping source time. Thus the interruption separates two presentations of essentially the same audience response. The picture does not itself sharply overturn a proposed impending arrival. Do not claim that the waiting group disperses or that a new audience event resolves the chain. The actual captions do not falsely make that claim, but this remains the largest cinematic gap in the intended reversal. Later contextual exposure At35–42.5 main /39–46.5 alternative, the first hand record is replayed uncropped and proceeds into an exposed inner mechanism. The actual full view at alternative42.5 reveals rollers and the watch-wearing hand. It demonstrably supplies more machine context than the initial close hand crop. 'Bookkeeping and You' supplies source identity, but the exact mechanism's office function is not independently obvious from the enlarged picture alone; do not specify a more precise function without additional source evidence. At42.5–52.5 main /46.5–56.5 alternative, the wider projector shows its body, lower reel, threading path and moving material/hand demonstration. The original source9.5 frame independently contains those features; the early crop removed much of them. This is a valid same-record context expansion, not an unrelated substitute offered as a reveal. At52.5–59.5 main /56.5–63.5 alternative, the cabinet panels move to reveal drawers and interior furniture. Original source0.5 and6-second samples corroborate that change. This is the strongest available material correction: what could be recruited as a doorway into an imagined audience space instead reveals cabinetry. Its placement late in V01 weakens its role as the immediate answer to the interruption. The final card says the link was ours and names separate record categories. The held machine image at65–68 main /69–72 alternative is explicitly an EDITORIAL HOLD and disclaims the machine or another mechanism actually stopping. That is honest. Sound continuing across the arrest may be an independent argument, but I have not heard it. The visible final hold cannot be called observed mechanical rest. Blocking versus optional repair Blocking for deliverable acceptance: provide a valid final main MP4 that decodes successfully, then inspect its actual enlarged/context frames. The parent has acknowledged the container problem; its exact cause is not established here. For the central cinematic claim, a discriminating picture repair is to make the cabinet's actual drawer/interior reveal the first post-gap answer. That directly tests and defeats the unsupported entrance/shared-space inference, rather than depending on an audience dispersal absent from the source. Then show the separate machine/projector/auditorium contexts. Falsifiable condition: with the production explanation hidden, the viewer can say 'I expected something beyond that door; it is a cabinet' and identify the edit's earlier unsupported connection. A longer WAIT card alone cannot supply this missing reversal. Optional refinements: narrow the machine label to inner mechanism/source title unless the office function is visually established; compare gap lengths only after the post-gap answer works; keep the construction labels concise enough that wider excerpts perform some correction independently. Do not replace the source with disaster footage or fabricate a real causal event. Score, sources and scope CAUSAL_TIMELINE.json marks each cross-source edge as editorial and preserves crops and source intervals. SCORE.json records newly composed accelerating pulses through24 and a composed residual tone during the interruption; source audio is stated muted. That distinction is correct in the record, but I did not verify the audible mix, timing, counterpoint or source muting by audition. The selected source pictures show machinery demonstrations, a staged cabinet gag and an auditorium; they do not show a disaster. Their wider contexts alter specificity without proving the initial shared event. Strengths to protect The cropped/uncropped relation is real, the cabinet reveal is concrete, and the film explicitly exposes its composite construction. The final hold is honestly labeled. V01 has the material for a stronger reversal; the picture argument should be assessed on an actual valid revised export before recording a pass for anticipation and its interruption.
