Independent critic B — 065 / FIVE RECORDS — V02

Verdict: qualified VISUAL PASS for five differentiated archive practices. V02 improves both the supported E action and the ending's emphasis. Full participant-centered prompt acceptance and full audiovisual/native-speed acceptance remain INCONCLUSIVE for the reasons recorded in V01: no verified personal testimony, participant self-descriptions/consent histories or auditioned individual sound spaces.

Actual method: I inspected main V02 sheets covering the revised E, question, reprise and closing holds (sheets2–6), extracted its 40.5-second E opening at four frames/second, and inspected the actual 88-second held empty-workspace frame at full resolution. I did not repeat the unchanged A–D source audit. I have not reviewed the complete revised alternative in this repair pass, so the V01 comparison assessment is not a newly verified V02 comparison verdict. No audio audition or native real-time playback occurred.

At 40.5 seconds E now begins directly with the seated woman, with no outgoing male-office-occupant dissolve. Through roughly 44.5 she rises and leaves; the remaining live-source passage holds the now empty workspace through 52.5. The actual caption is LEAVING THE DESK. This supports the observed action and removes an unnecessary carried-file assertion. A pale rectangle near her hands does not need to be identified for this action to work.

The 52.5–56 question card now says that one person leaves the desk and the empty space remains. The 68–75 E reprise gives the departure and vacancy another readable span. It remains explicitly a reprise, not a newly simultaneous continuation.

The final sequence is no longer five mechanically equal four-second frames. Approximate boundaries are A75–77, B77–79.5, C79.5–82.5, D82.5–87 and E87–95. The actual enlarged E footer reads HELD EMPTY WORKSPACE and 'Editorial afterimage / no claim the person stopped or finished.' This is an honest held record of an empty space, not eight seconds of newly observed aftermath. Its relative duration directs the ending toward vacancy and memory, while the short earlier holds remind us of practices arrested by the editor.

Largest remaining form limitation: E's empty workspace has already received substantial live time in the opening and reprise, so the further eight-second freeze risks redundancy. The picture offers no new detail or movement during87–95. That is a pacing risk rather than a source-truth blocker. If real-time viewing finds this inert, shorten the final E freeze and total duration rather than adding an invented event. A falsifiable test is whether a viewer can describe a developing attention to the vacated chair/desk during that hold rather than simply waiting for credits. My still-frame method cannot certify the necessary felt duration.

V02 satisfies the narrower source/representation repair: one observable woman leaves, no source dissolve is recruited as her continuity, no carried-work claim is necessary, and editorial holding is explicitly distinguished from recorded action. Preserve these changes. The five records remain industrial/promotional and staged corporate images, not a substitute for five participant-chosen meanings or verified statements. The bounded archive pass should not be promoted into a full original-prompt or AV pass.
