Independent critic B — 064 / THE CURVE IS NOT THE CAUSE — V03 Verdict: core visual construction PASS, but evidence-clarity acceptance INCONCLUSIVE pending one small caption repair. Corrected source associations and advancing samples substantially improve the diver passage. The current on-screen 'amber time fit misses' wording still presents a failure without the newly material uncertainty qualification. Full native-speed audiovisual acceptance remains INCONCLUSIVE independently of that repair. Method and correction to my V01 review I inspected all four actual V03 one-second sheets, then extracted the actual output's 32–38 passage at ten frames/second and enlarged its held frame at 35 seconds. I read the corrected FITS.json and independently extracted original batch64_68/media/394.mp4 frames at all eight exact stored source times: 1.2, 1.5, 1.8, 2.1, 2.4, 2.7, 3.0 and 3.3 seconds. I fitted each original frame into the documented 960x640 picture region preserving aspect ratio, marked the stored sample position for audit, and inspected all eight; I additionally enlarged 1.8 and 3.0 seconds. This is a source-association check, not just coefficient arithmetic. No audio audition or native real-time playback occurred. My V01 report's overview association check was insufficient. Its statement that the diver cloud corresponded to the source positions should not have been used as source verification: I had not checked every sample against its exact original frame. Recomputing RMS from supplied points verified arithmetic only and could not reveal wrong points. Preserve V01 as a record, with this limitation made explicit. I have not read critic A's report; the parent reported the discovered errors and requested this recheck. What V03 actually fixes At source 1.8 seconds, corrected point (624,240) lies on the curled body/torso region. At source 3.0 seconds, corrected point (452,234) likewise lies on the central body region. The other six corrected samples fall on plausible approximate torso/body regions in their own source frames. None is an obvious point on empty sky like a bad source association. These are approximate landmarks in blurred changing poses, not verified anatomical centers of mass or a rigid marker tracked through rotation. At output 32–34.1 seconds the source time advances from 1.2 to 3.3 seconds, and numbered points accumulate as the diver changes pose and the platform shifts. That makes the temporal status of the marks much clearer than V01's single held image. At approximately 34.1–38 seconds the actual frame is held with all eight samples and the amber fitted guide. 'SOURCE CLIP 3.3s / HELD FRAME' is truthful and useful. Historical positions are now visibly distinct from the contour of the final body pose. Numerical and claim limits I independently recomputed the corrected 2D RMS as 21.577173 pixels, agreeing with FITS.json. The stated approximate landmark uncertainty is about 24 pixels. RMS and uncertainty are not a formal significance test; nevertheless, a residual of this order does not establish a robust model failure outside the sampling ambiguity. The footage's camera motion and pose changes still prevent interpreting this as a measured world-space ballistic path, whether its screen-space quadratic fit is close or poor. The correct geometric limitation does not depend on proving a large residual. Largest remaining gap and exact observable repair The actual 35-second frame still says 'MODEL / amber time fit misses / not a measured world trajectory.' That phrase is literally true in the sense that the line does not interpolate every point, but in an essay expressly presenting useful failed models it can overstate the evidential meaning of this corrected residual. The approximate uncertainty is present in FITS.json, not on this comparison image. Replace the diver model caption throughout 32–38 seconds with, for example, 'MODEL / approximate samples; fit within sampling uncertainty / not a measured world trajectory.' A shorter formulation 'Approximate time samples, not a world trajectory' is also adequate if failure language is removed. Then keep the conspicuous steel mismatch at 38–44 as the actual useful model failure. Falsifiable condition: with the private report hidden, a viewer should not be asked to infer that the diver's modest residual disproves a trajectory model; they should identify screen coordinates and uncertain landmarks instead. No further resampling or footage replacement is necessary on the evidence inspected here. Whole-film strengths retained The unchanged observation-first structure remains effective: suspended stage fabric at 2–10, completed dive at 10–16, and visibly tool-produced curling strips at 16–24. The close curtain fits at 26–32 remain appropriately causally uninformative. The steel guide at 38–44 visibly cuts across a contour that returns on itself, making a single-valued quadratic's limitation materially legible. The guide-free stage return at 44–56 recalls suspended fabric while dancers move below it. These support the core archival adaptation even if the diver is presented as an uncertainty case rather than a second failed fit. No reference film was inspected, so 'reference stronger' is unavailable. The unchanged source, adaptation and AV limits in the V01 report remain: this is not the literal new chain/toss/hand-bent-strip experiment, and image review cannot certify sound or real-time rhythm. After the stated caption repair, the inspected visual evidence would support a qualified visual pass; the actual repaired export should still be checked before that status is recorded.
